Tactic
Combat |
Before we get to the practical tactics you will get a task.
Here is a drawing of a two-floowed house, the top drawing is the 1st floor and the lower picture is the 2nd floor Your task: What would you use the different rooms and what would you do with all the doors and windows? Plan what you are doing if you were to barricate yourself in a similar house. You can decide how many you are and what you have with you. You will have to place the rooms yourself. Bedroom X2 Toilet X2 diningroom X1 Livingroom X1 laundry X1 Cleaning Krupp X1 Plan your and your colleagues survival with the help of the drawing. This task will test your skill to make a defencive plan over your future base or safehouse. |
Being tactical may be what separates effective hunting from a massacre.
If you learn how zombies react to sound, light and smell, you can design different tactics in order to avoid or fight them effectively. It's not just rush in and fight a horde one by one, but you need an effective tactic that both reduce your losses and increase your fighting abilities.
Are you a large team, and most can fight, form up in a rectangular / square formation with cars or a truck in the middle.
The two outermost ranks should have long and broad shields. The shields must cover from the shoulder down to the shin and be as wide as the person holding it.
The inner joint armed with spears, thus they can with spear stab all zombies banging on the outer shields and protect the cart or truck.
You will therefore fight a bit as the Romans.
NOTE formations requires a lot of practice. Therefore practise, the formation before using it against zombies!
looting
Raiding other survivors is a way to get resources, but it is both cruel and selfish. Instead of trying to plunder other survivors, you should try to get them to join you.
But to even consider the idea of raiding another group supplies you need much planning. You need to figure out: how often are they leaving them their camp, how long are they gone and how many they are.
It is best to wait until they have left their camps and have been away for 10-15 minutes, then you can quickly take you in and take what you need, is there any survivors left, you should try to sneak past or distract them before you strike to.
If you are raiding another group, at least try to show some compassion and leave food for a few days and some ammo / weapons (so you do not take away their chance to defend themselves against zombies).
To avoid getting yourself vulnerable to looting, have irregular resource hunts, have them not only on a particular day or week, and always make sure to have enough guards left the camp to fend off X number of attacking humans.
